A family heritage in industrial finishing
KIC is built on Northamptonshire’s manufacturing history and dedicated to our father’s lifelong trade. The family ran specialist industrial wet paint and powder coating businesses, with continuous track lines, thermal curing ovens, heavy-duty box ovens and precision spray booths.
John Kiely grew up in the family business, working weekends from the age of ten and full time from fifteen, until the family firm closed in 2008. He then spent years spraying farm buildings, sheds, steelwork and railings in Ireland. Today he carries that experience forward through KIC, pairing stove enamel and wet paint expertise with Graco airless equipment and two-pack chemical-cure coating systems.

- Plant and access: access plant is hired with operators where work at height requires it.
- Site RAMS: tailored risk assessments are issued before mobilisation, covering work at height, high-pressure fluid injection and COSHH controls for two-pack coatings.
- HSE guidance: all work is planned and carried out in line with Health and Safety Executive guidance.
- Handover: every project ends with a physical walkthrough with your site agent before the final balance is cleared.

Which coating system do I need?
It depends on the surface and the environment. Tier 1 suits cosmetic refreshes, Tier 2 heavy anti-corrosive restoration, Tier 3 chemical and abrasion exposure, and Tier 4 floors and walkways. We recommend the right tier after reviewing your site.
Do you apply waterproof membranes?
No. We apply industrial paint coatings only.
How do you prepare the surface?
Preparation starts with an industrial pressure washdown and degreasing, then mechanical rust removal back to clean parent metal, before any coating begins.
Are you insured, and do you provide RAMS?
Yes. We hold £10M public and products liability insurance, access plant is hired with operators where work at height requires it, and a site-specific RAMS is issued before we mobilise.
What warranty do you provide?
Warranty terms depend on the coating system and the condition of the surface. They are confirmed in writing on your quotation before any work starts.
What happens when the work is finished?
We carry out a six-point walkthrough with your site agent, then issue a certificate of completion and an aftercare guide. The final balance is due on sign-off.
